Dan O’Brien
Born in the Crimean Autonomous Republic of Ukraine, Daniel O’Brien shares a strong passion for Ukraine through music, daily life, and liturgy. Daniel immigrated to the United States in 2001 and resides in Apalachin, NY. Daniel graduated from Marywood University in May 2023 with a Bachelors in Business Administration for Aviation Management. He is currently a seminarian for the Diocese of Scranton and is studying at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA.
In addition to being an affluent organist, Daniel shares a passion for aviation and flight. Daniel’s aviation career highlights include acting as Harris Hill’s Summer Ops Chief Tow Pilot, flying Piper Pawnees, as well as an aspiration to obtain a seaplane add-on. While not busy tearing up the skies or stealing other glider pilots’ thermals, Dan enjoys composing liturgical music, renting planes for enjoyment, and discovering organs to play on.
Daniel acted as a substitute organist for numerous churches in the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Scranton, PA, and Syracuse, NY, along with being a supply organist at Marywood University. Prior to entering seminary, Daniel has studied piano with Fitzroy Stewart, and organ with Nancy McNamara and Canon Mark Laubach.
